Introduction Portion

Surrealism.

A movement in art and literature originated in Paris (1924) by Breton. Formulated at a time when phsychoanalysis was gaining ground, surrealism aimed to liberate into the creative act the image-forming

powers of the unconscious and so transcend reality as it is conceived by the day-to-day intelligence.

Surrealism emerged out of dada, and it claimed writers, including de Quincey, Rimbaud and Lautréamont,

as its precursors. It found direction and method in Breton's manifestos and his development of automatism,

and it was furthered in the writings esp. of Eluard, Aragon and Prévert. Painters inspired by de Chirico

portrayed unconscious or dream images. Masson, Ernst, Arp and Miró developed abstract forms symbolizing unconscious thought, Duchamp produced objects with symbolic significance, and Picabia, Chagall, Picasso and Giacometti all participated in surrealist exhibitions. Dali and Buñuel produced a surrealist film, 'Le Chien Andalou' (1928). Surrealism, which also became philosophical and political, ceased to be a formal group or school, but has been influential as a liberating force. Haaaayyyyiiieee!!!

Hayiphiyayooo....at  nakagawa na rin ako ng blog just to share ideas about art..choz! bago palang to at under renovation.. at soon mag popost din ako ng mga artworks ko..yadaday!! napag isipan ko lang na mag engage onto blogging(tama ba grammar?) kasi ang boooorrrinng ng buhay...nakow!
